The New E-commerce Law of the People’s Republic of China (中华人民共和国电子商务法) governing online sale of products and services, as adopted at the 5th Session of the 13th National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee in August 2018, have come into force as of 1 January 2019.

This new E-Commerce Law of the People’s Republic of China does NOT extend to financial products / services, the distribution of news and cultural content (or other audio / video information), with such sectors subject to separate regulations.
